What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology encompasses holistic health disciples which use the gentle art of muscle monitoring to access information about a person's well-being. Combining Western and Eastern techniques to promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Kinesiology identifies the elements which inhibit the body's natural internal energies and accesses the enhancing potential within the individual.
What does Kinesiologist do?
Initially a full medical history is sought from the client as well as details of what has brought the client to the session.
The client then lies on a massage table, fully clothed, and the Kinesiologist usually uses an arm muscle as an accurate indicator muscle for muscle monitoring.
Muscle monitoring provides neuro-muscular biofeedback in that it receives information via nerve pathways and the meridian system of the brain and body. When light pressure is applied to the muscle and the muscle remains strong it is termed a ‘lock’ and an ‘unlock’ if the muscle loses strength. How the muscle responds and what the response is telling the Kinesiologist depends entirely on the details of the session at the time and questions asked by the Kinesiologist.
The real goal of any Kinesiology balance is to identify the underlying cause of the body’s stress and resolve it. It might be emotional, nutritional, structural or electrical or even spiritual. Sometimes it can be as simple as an ‘attitude’ or a forgotten memory.
A session is usually 60 minutes however sometimes an issue may require 90 minutes. The first consultation is normally 90 minutes. Usually a series of sessions may be required as some issues are multi-layered and it may take more than one session to identify the underlying cause of the stress and resolve it.
